Grassroots kid Steve Angerman from New Jersey has been picked up as a developmental driver for Gardella Racing in 2010. Formula Drift wise he will be the spotter for Ryan Tuerck through the season to understand the stress and technical aspects of running in the pro series. .
“We want Steve to learn from one of the best before we put him out on his own,” said Gary Gardella, team owner of Gardella Racing. “Our goal is to hone his skills so he is ready to make an entrance into Formula Drift. There are many guys that have made the transition over to Formula D and they are not ready for the intense competition. We want to make sure Steve can compete successfully in the XDC series and learn to communicate with his team before 2011.” .
Skimming through notes and this e-mail it looks like another Pontiac Solstice is being put together for Steve Angerman powered by a LS7 engine. Judging by the quote you will see Steve in this new Solstice at some XDC events here to prep him for the 2011 Formula Drift season as a second driver with Tuerck I would ponder a guess. .
“I look forward to Steve joining our team,” stated Gardella. “We plan to keep him busy as we groom him for his debut as a professional driver. I believe practice is necessary for future success. The kid has so much raw talent it’s amazing; I cannot wait to see him behind the wheel of the Solstice to see what kind of damage he is going to cause with the big V8 power.” .
If you want to learn more about Steve Angerman he was our cover feature in Issue 11: http://www.wreckedmagazine.com/issues/issue11/issue11.html
Needed to patch the hole in my seat so I got and Eat Sleep Race patch. I messed up putting it on, but whatever. At least its not a gaping hole anymore.

the holidays gave us a lot of different challenges with getting shots in the right light, focus, composition, and just general picture taking. most of the pics we took ended up being very mundane and can easily be done with a point & shoot, but it was definitely a learning experience. i found myself hitting up digital-photography-school.com before each occasion to get last minute tips to make the best out of our time…i had to resize for the blog and wordpress blands out the pics so check out the flickr for original format and full-size. it would prob be better to let you click the pic for the full size. note to self!

we have to work on focusing on more than one subject. up the aperture or manual focus? hmmm….
most comfortable position. ever.
went to see the tree in nyc, this proved to be the greatest challenge and sadly turned out the worst pics of the holidays. after reading about using the tungsten setting, i saw how much it really brought out the lights, but with our stock flash and inexperience, we just couldn’t get faces to look natural. we ended up switching to auto so the pics are usable and some post-processing would help, but next year…we will be ready!
almost got it =(
we then went to my sis’ a couple days after christmas…finally get my gifts!
the king in his thrown…
yummy dessert time!
i setup the camera to take pics in one minute intervals, it worked out for some nice candid shots and definitely made gift opening less stressful letting me focus on family time…
we all got moms the beatles collection. very cool i must say…
some post-processing will really make these look much better…
jerseystreets.tv put together another amazing video for the clubloose banquet to recap the year. there’s some forsberg, so-rad, clubloose, all the goodness that made this year so fun……dammit!
so at the banquest last night reece tells me i’m in import tuner for etown d1…that i got 3rd place. of all people for this to happen to, why’d it have to be angerman (who actually did get 3rd). don’t know how it happened or who goofed but it’s bs, i didn’t even drive at the event…
Nopi To Head D1GP In The U.S.?
The closing ceremonies of D1 Grand Prix USA’s Englishtown, NJ, event brought a close to the newly formed stateside drifting offshoot’s first season-an arguably tumultuous one, can now safely be said. The final event not only saw the continued protest of Japanese aces Kazuhiro Tanaka and Nobushige Kumakubo (over a judging dispute at the previous round in Chicago that nearly cost fans their event’s final runs; the two didn’t drive at all in New Jersey), but also came on the heels of the organization’s split from promoters Driven Concepts. Coincidentally, it marked the return of NOPI, who hosted the E-town event’s bikini contest and car show, leaving us wondering if the move was a sign of things to come. Spectator turn-out was bigger than anticipated, and the drifting that went down on E-Town’s road race course was arguably the best of the year, especially the underdog performance that earned American 240SX pilot Sal Campo the Third Place spot on the podium (we don’t know him either, but we’re betting we’ll be seeing more of him next year.). Daigo Saito’s second First-Place win earned him Champ status for the season (and a cool $18,000) and Yoshioka landed in Second. Nomura claimed Second in the Champ chase, followed by our boy Forrest Wang in Third, each with some large fake checks and even larger cheeses for the cameras.

i posted this around…such an amazing year, thanks to everyone! i accomplished the single goal made at the end of last season which was to drive to and from the track for nearly every event spending minimal cash (no trailer or hotel). thanks to clubloose opening the englishtown road course every month and george’s amazing work on the car, that was possible and it turned into an amazing season!

we also met some awesome people that i look forward to seeing next year, even had the pleasure of crashing with one, check out the left rear quarter =D. here are some from 2009…
sooooo michele and i decided this year to split a gift for christmas. it worked out nicely, even though my sis is yelling at us for opening it early. we (see: michele’s credit card) bought a nikon d5000 kit with the two stock nikkor lenses (18-55mm & 55-200mm). we know nothing about it but have ankur to guide us so hopefully we’ll enjoy our new purchase and maybe upgrade later. if you’ve ever seen airplane! then let me say that turning off the auto setting makes the plane completely go down. they may not be the ‘illest’, but whatcha gonna do? everyone’s a photographer, just like everyone’s a racer…
